Bo Riisgaard Pedersen leads the DEA Danish energy cooperation initiatives with the USA, UK, Germany, South Korea and the Netherlands and is responsible for administration, coordination and technical supervision of the DEA teams technical advisory input to these government-to-government cooperations as well as manages outreach to relevant stakeholders both domestically and abroad.
Furthermore, Bo provides direct expert assistance on Danish policy experiences and regulatory knowhow within renewable energy, bio-energy, energy planning and energy efficiency/district heating while securing that activities and input are closely linked to the relevant experiences, expertise and experts within the Danish Energy Agency.
Bo has formerly provided expert assistance within bioenergy to the Mexican Ministry of Energy under Mexican-Danish Climate and Energy Cooperation. He has also provided technical assistance on bioenergy, renewable energy heating and district heating to China National Renewable Energy Centre (CNREC) under the Chinese National Energy Administration (NEA) as part of the Sino-Danish cooperation on renewable energy.
Previously responsible for management and oversight for 20+ CDM and JI carbon emission reductions projects in Russia, Romania and Southeast Asia with special focus on biomass and biogas. Educational background includes Energy Engineering and Energy Planning with in-depth knowledge of both supply-side (power, heat and combined heat and power generation), transmission and demand-side (energy savings, flexible electricity consumption) of energy systems as well as the interactions between the components.
